Hi,
My name is Jacqueline Martinez, and I'm an American from Miami currently studying London.
During my undergraduate years, I studied art history. It taught me to appreciate what makes good compositions. I also studied professional writing, so I learned how to adapt to different people's needs.
But I felt driven to apply my creative pursuits to technology. So in June of 2020, I began learning UX design at home (via Coursera). By the end of 2020, I was sure it was what I wanted to do. So, I decided to pursue a Master's degree. I'm now near complete with my MSc in Human-Computer Interaction Design at City, University of London.
My coursework enabled me to begin a UX design internship with Thomson Reuters Labs in August of 2022. With the Labs, I did UX work focused on artificial-intelligence enabled software. This involved analyzing qualitative data from user testing, completing prototypes that value AI-explainability, and collaborating with developers, designers, and SMEs on a daily basis.
Now, my goal is to continue growing as a designer. I want to excel at creating designs that are inclusive, valuable, scalable, and ethically incorporate AI.
Thanks for stopping by and feel free to drop me a line!
